The Great Lakes Area Tribal Health Board serves the Bemidji Area. The Bemidji Area consists of 34 Federally-recognized Tribes and 4 Urban Indian Health programs located primarily in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Urban Indian Health programs are located in Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Milwaukee, WI; and Minneapolis, MN. Tribes in the area include Ojibwe (Chippewa), Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Mohican, Oneida, Odawa, Potawatomi, and Sioux.
